Ok, truth time. No matter how much i try, there will always be a place in my heart for horror. It was the first genre i stumbled across, the genre i attempted to write (and i do mean attempted, for what came out in the first few things i wrote was nothing short of month old bullshit.
That said, titles by Stephen King, James Herbert, Laurell K Hamilton and others continue to grow on my walls as i add their latest offerings to my personal library. The horror stories i once wrote are still there and now have a few more demented companions in their midsts.
My love of dark tales has also rolled over into my poetry offerings in the form of Tempus Fugit, Mors Venit. The poem is my homage to the work of Edgar Allan Poe, taking the subject of Death and creating a new mythology about one of the oldest characters in horror fiction. Where did He come from and why does He do what he does. Flick to my poetry page to read the full poem, which i do hope to publish as an illustrated short graphic novel.
As for other titles currently mustering in their dark thoughts, below is a list of projects currently in the early stages of production.
Works In Progress
Noctem-V: Set in the not too distant future, the human race is in danger of extinction. A mystery virus is sweeping through the continents, infecting the blood of man and wiping out millions of people with each passing day. There seems to be no hope of salvation, until a solution is offered. Someone has discovered a way to kill the virus and prevent it infecting the bloodstream...but it does not come without its own cost. Would you die to live?
Long Black Veil: Based on the song by Johnny Cash, the story centres on the spectre of a woman dressed in black who haunts the hills on the outskirts of Dragonville Town. Psychic detective Ash Kent attempts to uncover the truth behind the death of a woman over 100 years earlier that goes far beyond anything he's every encountered before.
Carpe Noctem: Four friends set out to find the last vampire. Following Russian myth, the group trace the last known vampire to a burial ground at Whitby - the site where Bram Stoker's Dracula famously landed. What they find will change their lives, their friendship and their future. The last vampire may be buried, but it is a long way from dead.
Thunder Road: Travel journalist Dawson Hall is on his last assignment for a local magazine. Rather than take in the sites of the Orient or taste the Big Apple, Dawson chooses to base his last article closer to home. Thunder Road, a desolate stretch of tarmac that once roared with passing trucks but now lies deserted and broken...and haunted by a killer. A killer who is about to strike again. Dawson is about to make his final report on the haunted highway to hell.
No Faerie Story: Lucia Richmond-Smyth is every parent's worst nightmare. A 17 year old who is older than her age suggests and has discovered the joys of sex early in life. The family gardener is her target, again and again. Her upper-class parents would have hidden way from the world...if only they knew. To her parents though, Lucia is a picture of innocence. Something has noticed Lucia though - something ancient. Lucia is about to find out that sex is power, and the power she has can alter worlds.
